[SPOILER WARNING] Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Before Midnight

If you only knew how much I hate romantic movies, you'll be surprised because
today, I'm about to introduce you to this romantic movie I came to love
for the first time ever!

Before Sunrise 1995

It all starts on this train in Vienna, Austria

A young American travelling through Europe meets a French student.
They leave the train together and explore the city.
what makes this movie so special is the dialog they have.

with the strong connection and the attraction they felt for each other
they start debating a lot about what if, what would happen if they did or did not do this and that.
I guess everybody plays what if game
but for young couple who one person has a life in America, and another in Paris,
it must be harder.
Especially with very little time they had, they must have gotten pretty desperate too.

They think if they kept seeing each other
they'd end up annoying each other, end up becoming like just ordinary old couple.
Not wanting to mess the perfect magical night they had
they think it'd be best if they didn't see each other again.

Jesse: Listen, if somebody gave me the choice right now,
of to never see you again or to marry you, alright,
I would marry you, alright.
And maybe that's a lot of romantic bullshit,
but people have gotten married for a lot less.

but right before they depart, they change their mind
but they think if they exchanged emails or phone numbers
it'd be more depressing to see their interest for each other die out gradually.
so they agree to meet again at the same place in six months.

Before Sunset 2004

Because of misunderstanding, their plan doesn't work out.
But they do somehow meet up in 9 years in Paris again.
only for few hours or maybe more...

Jesse: Well, I know why, I just, I wish you would've been! (we would have met)
Our lives might have been so much different!

Celine: You think so?

Jesse: I actually do...

Celine: Maybe not, maybe we would have hated each other, eventually.

Jesse: Oh, what, like we hate each other now?

Celine: You know, maybe we're...we're only good at brief encounters, walking around in European cities, in warm climate!

Jesse: Oh, God, why didn't we exchange phone numbers and stuff?
Why didn't we do that?

Celine: Because we were young and stupid?

Jesse: You think we still are?

Celine: I guess when you're young...you just believe there'll be many people with whom you'll connect with. Later in life you realize it only happens a few times.

Jesse: Yeah, you can screw it up! You know, misconnect...

Celine: Well, the past is the past. It was meant to be that way.

Jesse: What, you really believe that? That everything is fated?

Celine: Well, you know, the world might be less free than we think.

Jesse: Yeah?

Celine: Yeah, when given this exact circumstances, that's what will happen every time. Two part hydrogen, one part oxygen, you'll get water every time.

Jesse: No, no...no, I mean, what if your grandmother had lived a week longer, you know? Or passed away a week earlier, days even, you know. Things might have been different, I believe that!

Celine: No, you can't think like that.

Celine: (Shaking her head with eyes nearly watering.) You know...it's not even that. I was...I was fine, until I read your fucking book! It stirred shit up, you know? It reminded me how genuinely romantic I was, how I had so much hope in things, and now it's like...I don't believe in anything that relates to love. I don't feel things for people anymore. In a way...I put all my romanticism into that one night, and I was never able to feel all this again. Like...somehow this night took things away from me and...I expressed them to you, and you took them with you! It made me feel cold, like if love wasn't for me!

Jesse: I... I don't believe that. I don't believe that.
